Totally Random

January 26th, 2010 — 6:04pm

Get over it already!

I came across a page on fb that says: The guy that discovered milk what was he doing with the cow?! A wall post said: whoever drank it first was as sick. Both excellent points to say the least lol, but without doing so myself, why haven’t either googled it?

Apple tablet announcement tomorrow.

I don’t like my blog theme. So, formal, and neat. I want something random.. elegant, yet random.

Some say theory of computation’s final average was 44%. Haha, I say.

Want to watch a movie, not sure which. I have many of them but I just don’t feel like it you know?

A New Year Has Come — New Year Resolutions!

January 19th, 2010 — 11:59pm

Funny all people chop down their new year resolutions on January 1st – or at least thereabouts. Why would people set themselves some goals just because someone, someplace, is celebrating an anniversary? Doesn’t make sense. Not a bit. For me, new year resolutions should be on your birthday. That’s when you should set yourself some goals! THAT’S when you can look back at your past and come up with ideas to make a better future. (Or at least that’s what I think.)

Half Way Through

January 18th, 2010 — 12:12am

Monday July 30th, 2007 @ 10:33 a.m.

Ahmed had called me 4 times whilst I was asleep (I couldn’t help myself, I was extremely tired around 8 so I drifted off to sleep) and I was even more nervous when I woke up, that he was calling and all (you know, I was just about to get my results the first thing in the morning!). Anyway him calling was kind of a relief because I was getting used to the don’t-tell-em-if-it’s-bad-news policy, so I rejected his call and rushed out to my fathers mobile to call him back (I wasn’t going to call an international phone call from my mobile phone, no way!) and get the news after all. Well, I failed. The phone call I don’t remember much of, I was in shock I failed again! I really had to pass this year! So many things were dependent on it! :rawr: rabena w 7ekmeto b2a.

After I went off the phone with him, I told my parents, and immediately went back to sleep.

Me failing this year will definitely make serious changes to the way my life was turning out to be, after all, it’s obvious civil engineering is not the right choice for me. I’m coming back to Egypt on August 7th, we’ll see then.

Challenge

January 17th, 2010 — 10:15am

My cousin gave me this challenge last night and I couldn’t solve it. Shame, given I’ve used a similar programming language previously :\

1 = 5
2 = 55
3 = 555
4 = 5555
5 = ?

Estimation

January 6th, 2010 — 6:47pm

During the 4th semester, we had to get our hands dirty with Java — a little bit more than some desired. In short we had to create a very basic (single threaded) multiplayer game. Code-wise this means there was very little to learn when it came to the engine, plus we had to build a GUI interface so that, to me, was the main challenge. Anyways, this semester (5th semester) we had to get our hands dirty with even more Java, this time with multithreading and Java networking. This course was actually far more interesting than the game course simply because we were introduced to many very interesting new concepts — that I thought we should have covered during the game course.
