It’s been quite some time since I gave my website some love and time, and I decided now is as good time as any to finally do something about that.
Setting up a blog feels nostalgic. I have vague memories of when I first stumbled upon web development, and how it came along with setting up a local wordpress installation to keep a journal of my thoughts.
I quite enjoyed writing unspoken words to people that mattered back then. Only to never be read, but hey.
Alas, nothing lasts forever. We’re now in a world of Javascript (well, Typescript.) A blog can be a simple framework (hello Astro) that can be chewed and ends up being a few static files with a simple git push (hello Netlify). And thanks to the beauty of sharing (hello Andrew), it can be pretty easy to have something pleasant up and running pretty quickly. (There’s even an RSS feed — which I don’t even use anymore after Google Reader was shut down, but hey. In the spirit of nostalgia.)
